McCue Plc has a long history in building easy to use machines which solve difficult manual processes. To understand how the machine works, let us work through a step by step process of how an ink jet cartridge is refilled:

• A dab test is performed on the cartridge, simply put the head on a piece of tissue. If a positive dab test is achieved and the print head looks in good condition, we can tell the consumer we will have a very high likely hood of refilling the cartridge.
• If we do not get a dab test, perhaps the cartridge has not been used for many months', we can put the cartridge in an ultra sonic bath, or simply apply some cracker fluid. If we still do not get a dab test, we will attempt to refill the cartridge. The vacumn machine is so good at emptying a cartridge, it can clean a cartridge, where many non vacumn machines would fail to empty and then fill.
• We simply select the ink cassette which correspondence to the cartridge, so for an example if we were filling a HP 45 high capacity, we would select the ink cassette and cartridge adapter for the HP 45.
• The barcode of the ink cassette is read by the machine, the machine now knows all the technical information which is needed to refill the cartridge. If a new cartridge is released to the market, we simply send ink cassettes with a new barcode and an adapter, there are NO modifications to the machine.
• The ink cassette is now placed in the machine, the cartridge into the adapter, and we simply start the machine.
• With no operator intervention, the cartridge is now completely emptied, this achieved by the ink being pulled out of the cartridge through its print head, under a very high vacumn.
• When the cartridge is empty, the machine refills the cartridge with ink, with the correct volume and correct ink, under a vacumn.
• As part of the fill process, the cartridge is primed, ensuring the ink is flowing freely out of the print head of the cartridge.
• After the machine completes its cycle, the operator simply puts sealing tape on the head, to avoid any mess and protect the head and puts the cartridge in a box and returns the refilled cartridge to the consumer
• The machine now performs a self clean, which lasts about 60 seconds, and is ready to refill another cartridge.
